Acknowledgements

I would like to acknowledge all the people who have supported me and encouraged me after I was banished from Youtube. These are some good people, and I hope you will check out their channels or visit their sites. These people deserve to be acknowledge, but I fear the likelihood is high that I am going to be a bonehead and accidentally leave someone who should be acknowledged off this list. Please forgive me if you think you should be on here and drop me a note at themaskedanalyst@hushmail.com. I'll make sure to get you on the list.

I will be embedding and linking to some videos that some people made about me. I'm doing this, not because I enjoy watching others sing their praises to me. Oh, don't get me wrong, I enjoyed these videos immensely. But I am somewhat humbled because I am not sure I deserve all the warm words. The real reason I am posting these videos is to show my appreciation and to encourage you to check out their channels.

First I would like to thank Melsbasketcase. I think she may have been the first to notice that I was suspended. Let me give you a warning if you start watching one of her videos and decide to dismiss her right away. Do not be deceived--it is very easy to underestimate her and very easy to dismiss her. She may have a bit of an unusual presentation, but give her a chance. She is a good observer of human behavior and she frequently has very keen insights.

Trevor Rieger is the most banned person in Youtube. His site, utubedrama.com, is the National Enquirer of Youtube. Trevor is a bit of a practical joker, so you will have to take some of his claims and conclusions with a grain of salt. But he's a good guy and if you want to keep up with the drama on Youtube, his site is a must. He was also one of the first to get the word out of my suspension.

Words can't express how much I appreciate the support that fakesagan gave to me. He probably would get on my case for being oversentimental here, but this video really did mean a lot. And he has given me an open invitation to post my videos on his channel. Now, Fakesagan and I didn't always agree on everything, but he always presented his arguments logically and and with great style. It's fun to watch his videos, and you won't find a finer channel for your pownage needs. He's been on a hiatus for the past month, but hopefully he will someday start making videos again.

I really loved, loved, loved this video by whattheheck124. It cracks me up every time I watch it.

Leafdude is the embodiment of level-headed decency. I really appreciated these videos he made protesting my suspension.

Capnoawesome is a true champion of Free Speech. He too has offered to host my videos on his channel. I must give you a word of warning before you watch his videos. He is VERY sacrilegious and his humor is not for everyone. In fact, a lot of people hate him for his anything but subtle attacks on religion. His channel may not be for you if you are easily offended. But he is definitely a sharp guy and I find his humor hysterical about 95% of the time. (About 5% of the time his humor is a little too edgy for me, but even when he goes over the line, he is certainly worth watching.)

PiroNiro has also supported and offered to help me. Check out PiroNiro's channel for some well-reasoned videos on Atheism.

I'd like to give thanks to my friends from Encyclopedia Dramatica, especially zenophile, subseven, weatherman, dontclownyourself, and Mike Skehan. Encyclopediadramatica is a wiki that satirizes drama on the internet. It can be a bit shocking and if you are easily offended you probably shouldn't go there. But if you have a good sense of humor and don't take things too seriously it is worth checking out.

Sarrycrey is a member of the Youtube Community Council and she has been very sympathetic toward my plight. She is also one of the nicest people on Youtube.

Fernandomares has been quick to post comments protesting the suspension of a number of Youtubers, including Yours Truly. He also has a good sense of humor, as can be seen in this video.

I also am appreciate the encouragement that jelloshotz and tommyfromthebronx have given me. I'm not sure what happened to jelloshotz's channel, but you should definitely check out tommyfromthebronx. He's produced an amazing series called "Tommyfromthebronx" that could give the Sopranos a run for its money. It is probably the most underrated series on Youtube, and the fact that Youtube doesn't feature it is as great an injustice as the fact that Youtube cavalierly censors people for copyright infringement who have clearly not violated copyright law.

Also, there are several Internet Heroes that I want to acknowledge. They should be celebrated and supported for the work they do in helping to keep the internet a vibrant marketplace of ideas where people can speak freely.

The Electronic Frontier Foundation: Probably the best and most effective organization that supports free speech and the right to post anonymously on the internet.

Wendy Seltzer: Seltzer was a staff member at EFF. She is the founder of Chilling Effects Clearinghouse, a site devoted to helping people learn about their online rights. If you have ever had your rights online threatened, the Chilling Effects Clearinghouse and the EFF are two sites you must visit.

The Berkman Center for Internet & Society at Harvard Law School: A think tank set up "to explore and understand cyberspace, its development, dynamics, norms, standards, and need or lack thereof for laws and sanctions."

Lawrence Lessig: I know this will cause some jaws to drop, but I have only recently become familiar with Lessig and I am just now starting to find out more about him. But the more I see, the more impressed I am. He is the CEO of the Creative Commons, and a one-man think tank. This is an absolutely brilliant video.
